A FREE puppet community meeting for you! PiPs is an informal gathering for testing out new puppet and object-based performances. Bring whatever you’re working on and get encouragement and feedback from other puppet-folks!

Everyone is welcome! Bring a project, prototype, sketch, or idea, no matter how rough, or just come for the conversation! All stages of development are invited to share a community space for experimentation. No RSVP required! ADA accessible space! PLUS: stick around after at 5:30pm for a free low-stakes performance opportunity to follow: Stop Motion Plant's Salon series!

This time, we have special guests Stop Motion Plant (@Stopmotionplant):

Since 2019, SMP is a Chicago-based DIY arts collective consisting of a core ensemble and an ever-evolving community of performance artists; their primary goal is to foster solidarity in the performance arts community by cultivating an inclusive space to create original, often radical, devised work.

About Wild Mile (@urbanrivers):

The Wild Mile takes a wildlife-first approach to public greenspace. Combining ADA-accessible boardwalks with floating artificial habitats, the Wild Mile remains open to the public 24/7, and is used as a space for recreation, education, research, community gatherings, and more. The habitats mimic a natural wetland ecosystem - one that might have been found in the Chicagoland area long before the city was developed. They are pontoon-based, made of environmentally friendly materials, and built to last. Populated by wetland species native to Illinois, the gardens allow plant roots to grow through the physical framework, directly into the river.
