A very reasonable question. Sometimes, we don't even know. The Rough House is a great many things. Namely it is a home for play. Playing. Theater, Theatre, Theeuhter. Whatever you want to call it. Very basically, it is a performance space, in a living room, that can be configured any which way you like. A sort of playpen for the theatrical imagination. We have lights, and microphones, and big fucking speakers. We have platforms, curtains, 40 something seats, there's even a bar.
What do we do in it? The Rough House is by no means a typical venue. When we have a show, everybody plays. It's an opportunity for theater artists of all types to try out new and exciting things, and to enjoy themselves and eachother. What's coming next? This.
Like all polite hosts, our doors are always open. Do you need 
a rehearsal space? Do you not have any money? Let us know! We host rehearsals and readings whenever we can. Do you have a show that you would like to workshop? Do you want to throw a party? By all means, contact us, and we can make arrangements. Usually, the most common form of payment is beer, but we love hard alchohol as well.
Any events with covers, charges, etc... must be donation based only. We'll split any donations the party brings in.
